Headlines: Well performing fund is betting on Greek banks recovering in 2017
East Capital Eastern Europe Fund, a fund that last year managed to beat 90% of its competitors, is betting on the reprise of the Greek banking sector. They have included in their fund positions from two greek banks, Alpha Bank AE and Eurobank Ergasias SA. The managers of the fund expect the inclusion of these banks into the next QE program, which would help them to deliver positive performance during the present year. Besides Greece, the fund is also observing Russia, where recovery is expected as the geopolitical situation is improving after the recent recession.
