How to get an internship at an Investment Bank

“What motivated you to participate in the International Banking Cycle 2022?”
During the summer of 2022, my private equity internship sparked my interest in the M&A process, leading me to pursue a career in investment banking. At the time, the International Banking Cycle offered me the perfect opportunity to get to know the culture within the participating banks, which is an essential factor for me when choosing an employer.
“How do you look back at your time at the International Banking Cycle 2022?”
The International Banking Cycle turned out to be a great experience. I learned a lot about each bank’s culture, and I could network with people working in investment banking and fellow students. Additionally, working together on cases and subsequently presenting our findings proved to be a valuable learning experience.
“Can you tell us something about what you are doing now?”
I recently finished my internship at BNP Paribas, where I worked on a sell-side transaction within a great team. I am currently moving out of Amsterdam to start my master’s degree in financial economics at the Erasmus University Rotterdam.
“What role did the International Banking Cycle play in your current occupation?”
Participating in the International Banking Cycle led to me getting an internship offer at BNP Paribas, which further bolstered my interest in finance and, to a certain degree, led to my pursuit of a master’s degree in financial economics.
International Banking Cycle 2023
This year, the IBC will take place from September 8 - October 4. During workshops, presentations, network drinks and interviews you will get the chance to meet these banks, show your skills and ask them everything you want to know!
